Tameside Transmissions Fixed my very noisy Vauxhall Viva gearbox and fitted a new clutch in June. All good until we noticed a bit of oil on the drive. Rang them up and leak was fixed the next day. Very impressed and would highly recommend them.

I recently had a gearbox repair carried out here and wanted to leave a fair and honest review of my experience. The turnaround time was exactly as promised, and the work was completed within the timeframe I was given. During the repair, there was an issue with the Mini module failing due to a power outage. I was informed that this can sometimes happen on vehicles of this age. Although it occurred during the work, the garage offered to cover half the cost of the replacement, which I felt was a fair and reasonable gesture given the age of the car. Unfortunately, just before going on holiday, I was pulled over because my lights were not working. It turned out that a programming issue needed to be completed and, ideally, this should have been checked before the vehicle was returned. However, mistakes can happen, and what really matters is how a business responds when something goes wrong. As soon as I contacted the garage, they took ownership of the issue and arranged to have it corrected. Daniel, in particular, was outstanding throughout. He is an absolute credit to his father and the business. He took responsibility, communicated well, and made sure the problem was resolved. This is a genuine family run business that clearly cares about its customers and its reputation. No garage is perfect, but their willingness to stand by their work and put things right speaks volumes. I can honestly say you’ll be in great hands if you choose to have work carried out here.

Fantastic service by TT, I contacted them describing the fault and they were able to correctly quote without seeing the vehicle beforehand, they allowed me to drop my car off for a week whilst I went on holiday and the issue was sorted, they also changed the oil and filter on my gearbox as part of the repair, highly recommend!

My VW DSG gearbox was showing a fault, contacted them and told to book in online. Had to wait nearly 3 weeks for the next available appointment but weel worth the wait. Dropped car off between 7.30 and 8am along with showing proof of driving licence and V5. Contacted around lunch time the same day and give great advice about possible options regarding repair or replacement. These people do not rip you off and car was ready within 48hrs. Only had slight issue with oil leak but rang them up and took it in for the problem to be fixed no problem or hassle. Would highly recommend to anyone and will definitely be back if I ever have any more issues.

Once tameside transmissions got my insignia on the ramp it was diagnosed and back to me with a new automatic gearbox within 5 weeks superb job i was kept upto date very pleased and the price was spot on thank you.

My car developed a leak which was difficult to work out where from. Advice given to use Tameside transmissions. I booked in and was told to produce my V5. I called into the office and spoke to a guy who was really helpful and advised me to go back to my garage and have it checked over. I did so and had it repaired as it was a fuel filter housing that cracked and was spraying fuel out. My booking was then cancelled and the £100 refunded. Really happy with the advice and treatment I received. Thankyou
